Humble pie's on the menu. Again.

I eat alot of it, mainly because my brain thinks quicker than my conscience can censor it. I'm not saying I'm particularly clever. I'm not. I'm actually a bit stupid really.

Anyway my post about Davina and her 15 minute telly watching rule seemed to provoke a lot of comment both here and on BMB. That's fine and good and I'm pleased to stir up debate, but there were a few people who disagreed with me. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, (even those who have a different one from mine shock horror). But it gave me a taste of what it's like to receive negative comments and it was sobering. This mummy blogging game is lots of fun, but I've learnt you do have to be a bit careful.

So let me apologise to all those mummies who don't like their kids watching TV. Let's face it, I don't really LIKE it, but I just go with it sometimes for some peace and to calm my toddler down before bed. I balance it with lots of other stuff (hence the showy offy creative reference blog earlier) and going to the swings, playing in the park, playdates etc. Oh God here I go again justifying my mummy status. (Actually I've been crap today. Toddler was running around the cafe on the Common in her stockinged feet and the floor was wet, dirty and cold). Anyway if I offended anyone then sorry. I was a bit harsh.

As it happens today is another troubled day for me. We won't find out about the house until 5pm so I'm afraid I am uncharacteristically miserable. Try as I might my razor wit has deserted me (some of you may think it never joined me).

Although despite all this, the inevitable arguments it has brought to this Mummy's house recently; the fact is I look at my toddler telling me really earnestly that 'maybe we need more ingredens' in our cake mixture, when we only have flour and some hundreds and thousands, and life's okay. When my baby laughs at me and shows me her 2 fledgling teeth I don't really give a damn about where we live. They really are all that matter.

Right on that saccarhine note, I'm off to have a cup of coffee while both girls sleep (hopefully...).
