Sharing the love and the joy of Marmite

I've just read some really inspiring blogs and they made me think (which is a feat, believe me). Mummy from the heart wrote about relationships and their maintenance. Me and him indoors venture into the land of co dependancy every so often (well most of the time), but sometimes we have a real laugh together and remind each other why we are together.

We're parents, but we're not just parents. We are a partnership through life, we rely on each other and we 'get' each other. I find his joke about foxes having cold hands being the reason why God invented the Foxglove funny and he laughs at me most of the time (my choice of pale grey covers for our sofas when the baby was born, not my finest hour). So thanks Michelle, you made me think.

I then read this blog about Haiti from LittleMummy, and would ask you to go there and donate for a shelter box. Being a mother of 2 beautiful girls the pictures of toddlers wandering around alone and bewildered have made me weep. It's truly devastating.

Finally I read this one from Helen at In Monkey's Shadow. I have written a couple of full on 'from the heart' type poems lately, but this lady is a remarkable example of someone getting their life back together. Let's be clear I know almost nothing about her, but from her writing that's how it seems. I hope she won't mind me referring to her. Go and visit her.

Marmite please Mummy

The toddler's demands for bed time friends have gone surreal. Tonight it was a jar of Marmite. I kid you not. But I relented given her incredible helpfulness in Sainsbury's earlier. She stood in the trolley and passed me all the food to put on the belty moving thing. Then she ran a running commentary for 'the lady' on what we had bought. Her reference to Tampax as 'Mummy's special things' was interesting, clearly 'the lady' thought so too as she stifled a smirk. Gotta love toddlers.

So there you go. I am showing some love to some other bloggers. I am as ever eternally grateful to those people who read this blog and hope I have not started to bore you yet.

xx

  2. I'm sure a jar of Marmite makes a wonderful bedfellow. Its when she describes your bottle of wine as Mummy's juice that you need to worry! Lovely post. Made me smile x
