Win tickets to the Ideal Home Show

If you're anything like me, house porn really is something to get excited about. Maybe it's just because we've moved I am now OBSESSED with houses (oddly given I should be in house-rehab after the nightmare experience).

Anyway I was very happy to run a competition here to win tickets. This year it's different apparently it has 8 sections; home, village, food, gardens, shopping, woman, gadgets and interiors. Also lots of celebrities including Gregg Wallace, Linda Barker, Fiona Philips and Monty Don. Blah blah blah, you get the picture it'll be fab.

I have 5 pairs to give away, and given that I wanted to make this an oportunity to share some linkage, so to speak, here's the deal:

To win them you just need to tell me what your ideal home would look like.

I chose this as frankly if money was no object I'd most probably buy up the village and have a different house for each day of year.

But what would you do? The more far fetched the better.

Submit it as a link in comments and I'll link to them all in a post on Wednesday. Or you can just leave a comment with your entry, choice is yours.

I'm not big on competitive blogging but I guess there needs to be some judging involved given it's a competition. So the weirdest and most wonderful will win.

The winners will be announced here on Thursday and then contacted by the Ideal Home Show people to arrange getting the tickets for the day you want as it runs from 22nd March to 5 April (so not much time!)

I hope you'll enter if nothing else to make me feel loved .....

PS: I'm very happy after the toddler went down without a fight. All the virtual support and hugs I got really really helped xx

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone which is laborious so please enter!!

  2. Well I don't want tickets to the IHS thanks (too work-related for me) but I like the idea of thinking of my dream house. It's always a tough one because my job is nosing round beautiful houses so I'm always changing my mind about what kind of house I'd like.

I'd like a large, detached Georgian house set back from the road. I'm happy living in a city at the moment, but it would be one of those houses with garden all the way around. Now I'm not going to get going on the interior because we'd be here forever, but it would be an eclectic mix of modern and period, in pale greys, whites and silvers. And there would be countless designer classics. Must stop now because I could go on forever, believe me...

  3. Oh I wouldn't say no to some tickets. Love a day out me.

Well, mmmmmm, thinky thinky. My ideal house would be my last but one. The one I had in Singapore, because that would mean I could go back there to live rather than just visit which would be fine & dandy.

So, please House Genie & Person in HR responsible for Expats can you rustle me up a 5 bed, 4 bath townhouse with staff quarters, splendid outdoor dining area & wonderful neighbours? All a mere 5 minute taxi journey from the Four Seasons where a girl likes to meet her pals for a spot of lunch? That would be just super if you could arrange that.

Many thanks in advance to the dear House Genie & HR Person

    MD xx

  4. I subscribed to Country Life for a few years just to get a house porn fix !

Ideal Home brings back nice memories - we lived about a minute from Earls Court & got our garden furniture by making a ridiculous offer to the guy selling it and carrying it away
