A beautiful nights sleep

Well I'll be damned.  Both my girls SLEPT ALL NIGHT last night.  Yes they really did!  I put it down to the lovely people who sent a rather 'end of tether' Mrs Mummys Life their virtual support and wise words last night.

So thankyou Julie B from The Sardine Tin , Mummy Bear from She was not at all Domestic, Barenakedmummy, @carolinesweetie Emily from MummyLimited Victoria from It's a small world afterall and Alison from Deerbaby

Whatever they did worked.  It was the first time in weeks that we had an uninterrupted night's sleep.  Of course I woke up all night because I was so used to doing so.  And as I lay there praying they wouldn't wake up, I was of course awake. Which rather countered the benefit.  But I'm optomistic that my body clock will revert to normal soon (just in time for the night time shenanigans again no doubt).

Anyway, today seemed like a good day to claim my Beautiful Blog award from Maria at GeekyMummy who, fittingly, is often giving me helpful advice as her children are about a year ahead of mine.

So I now have to tell you 7 things about myself, preferably that I haven't told you before.  Tricky since I don't exactly hold back on this blog, but here goes:

1. I cut my own fringe with nail scissors.  Regularly.  Fortunately the 'shaggy' look is in this season.
2. I would like to live in an early Agatha Christie novel.  Clearly not being the one who gets murdered, but just the era of her books seems gentle (ok, so take out the war of course).  Also I think the clothes were lovely in 30's & 40's and very flattering to women.  No muffin tops in a tea dress.
3. I'm writing a book.   Not very fast and I have no expectations of getting published. But writing it is fun (and passes the time on the many Eurostar trips).
4. I love the books of Patrick Gale.  He really is a wonderful story teller and so evocative.  If you haven't already, read Rough Music and Notes on an Exhibition.
5. I can touch type.  Fast.
6. I am prone to self-indulgent blogging (ok, you already knew that).
7. I cycled 420km through Cambodia to raise money for the British Red Cross.

To be honest, I may well have told you some of that before, it's a tough ask of a blogger who basically writes about little other than herself.

But to the people I have tagged, you need to share 7 things with us, and pass this on to as many or as few as you like.

xx
