Sorry about this, but I'm warning you I'm about to rant.
What's with the whole 'Brave decision, courageous man' bollocks. Gordon Brown lost the election it was completely unfeasable for him to continue to be leader of his party let alone PM. Nothing brave or courageous. He did what he needed to do before he was ousted in a rather messy way.
Then all this deliberating over who will form the coalition is starting to really get on my t*ts. I find it completely unacceptable that there is even a discussion between the Lib Dems and Labour. Clegg always said he would form a coalition with the party who got the most seats, and correct me if I'm wrong but that was the Tories wasn't it? They have agreed to a referendum on the alternative voting process which seemed to be a deal breaker for the Lib Dems, so why is Clegg still talking to Labour?
It's not that I'm a staunch Tory, anything but frankly I've always supported Labour, but I simply can't continue to given the reasons I wrote about here. And actually it's not about that. It's about what's fair and right.
So I feel cheated that the party that came 'second' is being given any kind of opportunity to continue to govern, albeit in a 'rainbow' coalition involving everyone apparantly except the Monster Raving Loony Party.
I understand the politics of all this, I get that it's the way our voting system works, but I don't get that the Lib Dems need to prevaricate on this so much. Clegg is rapidly losing his new found shine. He looks like the dull kid at school who's suddenly found himself in the 'in' crowd and is a bit over awed by it. I think he's a geniune chap and I like him, but he almost appears to be enjoying this power trip.
Sort it out guys. Whatever your problems, there's a country here waiting for a new leader.
That's all.
