Now I don't look like your average Bruce Springsteen fan, but I admit I am. For many years it was a deep, dark secret. A bit like saying you liked Status Quo or were a BNP supporter perhaps. It's my stepfather's fault. Or perhaps my mum's, maybe a bit of both. I went to see him live with my stepdad several years ago and he's just such a showman you can't help but fall a bit in love with him. Frankly anyone who can keep on rocking so long with so much energy is pretty cool in my book, (well anyone with energy is someone to be admired in my book).
Anyway here's what I want to tell you about today.
One of the reasons we moved to the sticks was to be closer to the countryside. We wanted to be able to jump in the car, drive 10 minutes and have a beautiful walk just waiting for us in all it's glorious green goodness. So today we did just that.
We went for a lovely 5 mile walk. Yes 5 miles. I feel it's important to share that since frankly I'm feeling it now. Him indoors had Eliza on his back.

We stopped for a snack.
Eliza learnt all about canals, locks, how corn on the cob grows and Tilly learnt how to say 'quack'. As my husband said, it was a very educational walk. I learnt that it is possible for shoulders to go numb.
I sit here now writing this in the garden, with a glass of wine while him indoors is doing a bbq. Well why not, I know it's Sunday, but a brilliant weekend needs a good ending. And this really was a very very good weekend.
Hope you all had lovely weekends.
