It's a while since I breastfed but when I did one of my abiding memories of feeding whilst out and about was trying to cover my modesty whilst simultaneously holding a conversation with someone and getting the baby to latch on. I remember flashing at people on several occasions. The problem I had was also that both my children were incredibly nosy and would be distracted so easily. I tried many things but invariably ended up trying to plan my outdoor excursions around feeds. It was just easier.
You see I would really have loved to had one of these beautiful breastfeeding covers from Baby Bubu, a wonderful business started by a British mum called Ella. She knows the issues we have breastfeeding in public and so she came up with some very pretty and practical solutions.
They come in a variety of contemporary prints or in classic block colours that can match any outfit.
She makes and sells these Breastfeeding Covers shown above which have a rigid boned neckline so you can still gaze adoringly (or tiredly perhaps!) at your baby whilst you feed but baby doesn't get distracted and you don't feel in any way self-concious.
She also makes and sells Nursing Ponchos which are made of soft jersey and can easily be flung on and off with one hand.
They have poppered neckline so you can adjust to fit.
All her products are made with locally sourced materials so they are kind to the environment. But actually it's just quite nice to support a fellow-mum who's created a business to help others out in what can be a daunting and difficult time.
If you like these why not 'like' the Facebook page as you could then enter a competition to become 'the face' of Baby Bubu.
