So as it happens I'm doing my level best to be done with nappy bags forever. But Tilly just doesn't see it that way, so we're still using one. So when the lovely Nicki from Pacapod asked me if I'd like to review the brand spanking new range of super-luxe and gorgeous Sequoia nappy bags I, frankly, jumped at the chance. However I'm not the best reviewer in the mummy-blogosphere because I'm pretty rubbish at doing them on time. Mainly because I'm too busy doing a million other things, but that is no excuse for my tardiness. This bag was launched in the summer, but I think it's the perfect colour for Autumn.
Now this is a really beautiful bag. Too beautiful in fact to be filled with nappies, bottles, wipes and old banana skins (why do they ALWAYS end up in the nappy bag?) so I started to use it as an overnight bag or a bag for some bulky extras, in fact on a couple of occasions I used it as a handbag. And several people commented on my stylish accessory, whilst I smiled inwardly at my good fortune.
However it is actually intended to be a nappy bag. So here's why it's brilliant:
- it has 2 cunning 'pods' inside. One is a rucksack (or rack tack as Eliza calls it) and is small enough to go on a toddler's back and carry their essentials (Milo, hair clip, banana, water cup, princess tiara) or for Tilly it's whichever toy is flavour of the month, a few pieces of duplo, a yellow felt tip and an old fairy cake holder. The other pod has a changing mat and bottle warmer in it.
- It has two handles, a hand held one or one to put over your shoulder, which happily fits over the handles of a push chair too.
- It has lots of cunning pockets to put things like wallets and mobile phones and keys so you know where they are and spend hours digging around when you have two children throwing simultaneous tantrums because you can't open the car door.
- you can find things in it because of the way it unzips like a suitcase. This is actually a really under-sold asset in my opinion. Is it just me or does every mother lose whatever it is they actually need in the bottom of the bag?
The Pacapod Sequoia is available in black and mink from £130 from www.pacapod.com.
